Unchurch

The Future of UnchurchThe topic at hand got a little mixed up with the fact that our meeting was just a day after the birthday of one of Diane's favorite theologians, Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., but somehow they melded together into a beautiful vision of what Unchurch is called to be to our corner of the world in light of some great preaching by the great Doctor King.We listened to a recording of Dr. King's favorite song, "Precious Lord, Take My Hand," sung by his favorite singer, Mahalia Jackson, who also had the bittersweet experience of singing it at his funeral that came far too soon. What did we decide about the future of Unchurch? We decided that it definitely has one. (Thank God for that!) But we are not "married" to our current meeting location if we can find something more economical that better meets our needs. Several good suggestions were given, even some from our two first-time visitors! We'll check on our options. We have until May 1 when our current lease expires (see the "Our Finances" page) to make a decision. May God guide us and lead us!
