Our expenses are minimal. Nathan and Diane have covered the rent expense since Unchurch was founded
in May 2009. Eventually we would like some help with this. :-)
We also pay our nursery worker $20 per session, so that's $40 per month
in child-care expense. We ask parents to contribute $2 per child per
session, and your gifts cover the rest. That's it for our ongoing expenses,
because...
We already have a sponsor for the cost of this web site. It's very reasonable: $175 for three years,
including domain name registration and web hosting.
Diane is our volunteer amateur
webmaster, and Erik has agreed to manage our blog on a volunteer basis when we
get that started. Our web site sponsor
wants to remain anonymous, so we'll just call her "Mrs. Fencepost" and thank God
for her generosity! :-)
Trade name registration costs were about $50, and non-profit incorporation
was a little bit more.
Minimal supplies keep us going -- just a few dollars a month for Communion
bread, animal crackers for the kiddos and
copies of worship sheets, things like that. As seed money, a grand total of $3
was given during our first gathering! Since then, a few dollars have trickled in
here and there, which we will acknowledge formally at the end of the year since we
are now tax-exempt through the UCC Rocky Mountain Conference. We collected $12
and some change for the UCC's Neighbors in Need offering in October.
We get great free promotion through the Colorado Springs Independent.
We're now listed on the UCC web site under "Find a Church." And a
friend of ours, Teila Tankersley, recently wrote an article about us that was
published in the online version of Fresh Ink.
That's it -- our financial disclosure on one web page. If you'd like to give or become an anonymous sponsor of this
innovative work, email us at
info@unchurchcs.com, and we'll tell you how.
